Yosemite: Chain Lakes

Service Description

Yosemite-Chain Lakes - Multi Day Backpack Come with Howtreks on a fantastical trip to a part of Yosemite National Park that most people never see! This is the perfect backpack for beginners, youth and families, and avid fishermen. Chain Lakes is in the southwestern most section of Yosemite. To gain access, the trail actually begins in a remote section of the National Forest - outside the park and crosses into the National Park at a distant trail crossing. Experience Yosemite without the crowds. The remoteness of this area makes it serene and beautiful. Part of the adventure involves getting to the remote trailhead. Howtreks will shuttle all participants 10 miles along backcountry Forest Service roads to the Quartz Mountain trailhead. From Quartz Mountain, we reach the Chain Lakes via a 6 mile trek - with a minimal 1000 foot elevation gain. The Chain Lakes are magical. A series of three pristine alpine lakes awaits the end of our trekking journey. We will camp lakeside falling asleep to the awe-inspiring loudness of a multitude of chirping frogs. We will have lots of opportunity to fish both lakes and streams. The fishing can be legendary. Our trek also takes place at the beginning of a wildflower blossoming. The untouched wildflowers often line the backcountry streams making a picture not easily forgotten. Chain Lakes is also home to some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Sierras. We will camp one night at the trailhead and two nights at Chain Lakes. There will be lots of chances for guided side hikes, fishing, cooking, wilderness survival teaching and more. This is the perfect trek to learn hammock camping. Howtrek guides are expert hammock campers. CONTACT US TO SIGN UP - DON'T MISS OUT - SPACE IS LIMITED info@howtrek.com - 818-929-2146
